Environmental education

For many years, city halls, organizations and companies have developed programmes of environmental education in the Llobregat delta. The fact that the natural richness of these spaces is increasingly well-known is due, to a great extent, to the initiatives of these entities, which have accompanied students to the Llobregat delta and have taught them to valuate and protect the natural patrimony. We are deeply grateful for that.

The Consortium of the Llobregat Delta establishes the criteria that regulate the use of all these spaces and coordinates the implementation of programmes of environmental education. It promotes a public use compatible with the preservation of the environment. It watches over environmental education and offers a pedagogic experience of quality to the students in Catalonia.

Only public or private organizations authorized by the Consortium of the Llobregat Delta, legally constituted, which organize, manage or implement programmes and activities of environmental education are allowed to go into the Natural areas of Remolar-Filipines and the Natural areas of the River - Cal Tet - Ca l'Arana, in organized groups, and to use the facilities that these spaces offer.

At the beginning of the academic year, the Consortium gets in touch with these companies and organizations and sets the criteria of arrangement for environmental education in the Llobregat delta. Follow-up activities and evaluations are carried out throughout the year.

In the case of schools that want to visit the Natural Area of Remolar-Filipines and the Natural areas of the River without contracting the services of one of these authorized organizations of environmental education, it will be necessary that, beside following the procedures that the Consortium stipulates, the person in charge of the group prepares the visit well in advance and with proper material in order to take the highest pedagogic profit.

Activitats d'Educació Ambiental.  Curs 2009-2010
Every year, more than 17,000 students in Catalonia visit the Llobregat delta. The Consortium considers them as essential public, and it works day-to-day in order to offer them a good service so that they enjoy a profitable visit. We are aware of the potentials of natural environments as pedagogic and learning spaces. For this reason, we are demanding with the environmental education that is carried out.
